Carey Johnson Shifts to Department of Cultural Resources
Carey Johnson, who joined the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts in March 2004 as a program assistant and was promoted to arts research specialist a year later, is now working for the Office of Curatorial Services in the Department of Cultural Resources, of which the Arts Council is a division. In her new role as curatorial specialist, she’ll continue to be part of the Arts Council’s Collections Management team as well as providing curatorial services to the State Library and Historical Resources. For all three divisions, she will coordinate procedures for documenting and monitoring the department’s extensive art and artifact collections and develop online resources for the general public that relate to the department’s collections. She will continue to work out of the Arts Council’s offices at 2 ½ Beacon Street, and can be reached at the same number, 271-0792, or by e-mail, Carey.A.Johnson@dcr.nh.gov .
A Reminder to Grantees:Final Reports Due July 31
Did you or your organization receive a grant for Fiscal Year 2009? If so, your final report is due July 31. Failure to file a final report will render you ineligible to apply for grants for two years. Americans for the Arts Posts Info on Stimulus Grants
The Americans for the Arts Government Affairs, Arts Ed, and Research teams have recently completed a document that outlines in detail how arts education professionals can access ARRA or stimulus funds for arts education in their communities. Travel and Tourism Contest has Arts Connection
The New Hampshire Dream Vacation Scavenger Hunt, a contest sponsored by the state’s division of Travel and Tourism, asks residents and visitors who are vacationing around the state to submit photos taken at several N.H. locations. The locations include “Visiting a museum” and “Next to the Pollyanna Statue in Littleton.” The statue project was initiated via the Littleton Main Street Program and a grant from the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts.
